I will describe the technique of energetic neutral atom (ENA) imaging and the technical advances that have made this new imaging technique possible. I will present ENA measurements from both the IMAGE and TWINS missions and compare the remotely obtained energy spectra to in-situ measurements at geosynchronous orbit and throughout the magnetosphere (from the MPA and THEMIS spacecraft, respectively). I will also compare recent TWINS observations to global models of the quiet magnetosphere and highlight recent results from a study of coronal mass ejection and high-speed stream driven geomagnetic storms.
