西湖国际空间等离子体物理研讨会

第一轮通知
随着航天和人造卫星技术的不断发展，人类的活动已经深入到太空，而通讯、导航、卫星遥感和军事侦察等依赖于航天和人造卫星高技术应用和空间等离子体有着密切的关系。从太阳大气、行星际空间到地球空间的等离子体环境中，存在着各种危害航天器安全的各种空间灾害性天气事件，如日冕物质抛射、太阳耀斑和地球磁层亚暴等。为了了解灾害性空间天气过程的发生机理及其演化特征，必须对空间等离子体中有关的基本物理过程开展系统的研究。近年来空间等离子体研究方面都有了比较大的进展。为了加强同行间的切磋和交流、推动国内空间等离子体物理研究的发展。空间等离子体物理作为浙江大学聚变理论与模拟中心主要研究领域之一，我们中心决定举办西湖国际空间等离子体物理研讨会，邀请国内、外专家，科研人员和研究生进行讨论和交流。由于场地限制，组织委员会将根据所提论文质量进行筛选录取。
本次研讨会将围绕磁场重联、带电粒子加速和加热、波的激发、以及激波等主题开展广泛的交流。现将有关事宜通知如下。

West Lake International Symposium on Space Plasma Physics
The First Announcement
In recent years, there have been significant progresses, both domestically and internationally, in the studies on magnetic reconnection, particle heating and acceleration associated with waves and shocks in space plasmas. With space plasma physics being one of its primary research missions, the Institute for Fusion Theory and Simulation, Zhejiang University (IFTS-ZJU), believes that it is timely promote collaborations and communications among the researchers in these important areas in order to push further their advances. Therefore, IFTS-ZJU proposes to host West Lake International Symposium on Space Plasma Physics at Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China in April 19-21, 2010. Scientists as well as graduate students, both domestic and abroad are welcome to participate. Due to the space limitations, the interested participants should submit a title of his/her paper along with a brief abstract, and the organizing committee will inform the corresponding author whether the presentation is accepted
or not.
The workshop will focus on the physics of magnetic reconnection, particle heating and acceleration, and shocks. The symposium format will consist of Invited and Contributed Talks, and Posters. Participants are encouraged to exchange their recent results and progresses, and explore new directions for future studies as well as possible collaborations.
Symposium Language: Chinese or English.
